Four Walls

These four walls

Hold a girl who starved herself.

A young girl who couldn’t move,

Glued to the floor by the tears she shed.

These four walls

Watched a girl lose sleep for days.

A girl who was broken,

Shattered by her own expectations,

Disappointed in her own lack of love.

These four walls

Have heard the sound of heartbreak,

Tear-soaked pillows,

Desperate prayers,

For five months now.

These four walls

Witness rebirth every morning

As she breaks

And puts herself together again

Every night.

These four walls

Will be the first

To watch her die

And come back to the world as a thunderstorm.
